Buying Your First Home

As a First Home Buyer in NSW you may benefit from Government Schemes which have been established to help purchase your first home.

The First Home Plus offers exemption from Stamp Duty for homes under $500,000 and then a concession is available on homes between $500,000 and $600,000. Exemptions and Concessions are also available on vacant land on which you intend to build your first home.

The First Home Owners Grant has now been lifted to $14,000 for established homes, or for newly constructed homes the grant has been lifted to $21,000. These higher Grants are under a limited scheme and are only available for homes purchased prior to 30 June 2009. The Grant will then revert back to $7,000.00
